Dear Blackstock Families:
It was quite the different start to the school year with various learning formats, new technologies and new procedures for everyone. This new way of attending school and learning has proved to have its challenges for some students. I am hopeful that we will return to normalcy in the near future. As we begin our new quarter next week, I want to take the time to give you a few reminders to help your child succeed this year with this new way of attending school and learning. If your child struggled during the first quarter, they can still make progress by working hard, asking questions, and attending class everyday in the next quarter.
Students need to attend class everyday.
Students need to complete assignments during asynchronous time as well. Their school day does not end when they log off.
Students need to ask for help when they need it. They can do it in class, office hours, or email.
Students should come to Blackstock immediately if they need tech support. We are open 8:00-1:00 for tech support.
Students should turn in assignments regularly.
Students should turn on their cameras. We have found that students who turn on their camera do better in school.
Next week we will mail quarter 1 report cards home. If you have not already done so, please take some time to review grades with your student and set some goals and strategies for using this next quarter to do well. Teachers want students to do well and are very willing to help, so please encourage your student to reach out and work with teachers now. There are also tutorial resources, such as ASES and teacher office hours for students to receive help everyday. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need assistance.
